On Holy Wednesday, April 13, Trey Clegg will present a powerful Organ Meditation of music for Holy Week and Easter at 12 Noon. The repertoire will consist of dramatic settings of hymn tunes and concert literature for the occasions of Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter.
Representative composers of the music are Johannes Brahms, Sharon J. Willis, Evelyn Simpson Currenton, Robert Hobby, Michael Burkhardt, and Charles-Marie Widor. The finale will be the virtuoso “Toccata” from Widor’s Organ Symphony No. 5, which Trey has historically played at the conclusion of every Easter Sunday Service for many years.
The performance will be broadcasted live on the First Congregational Church YouTube Channel and Facebook page at 12 Noon on Holy Wednesday.
