Discovery Week 2022
Faith and the Environment
July 25-28, 6:30-8:00pm
Did you know that God calls us to be good stewards of all creation?
Did you know that the poor, the marginalized and people of color are disproportionately impacted by environmental degradation?
Did you know that UCC ministers coined the phrase “environmental racism” and helped give birth to the environmental justice movement in the 1980s?
Join us to discern and discover how people of faith serve God through a ministry of creation justice as directed in the scriptures of Genesis 2:15 and
Micah 6:8.
Rev. Gerald Durley, Pastor Emeritus of Providence Missionary Baptist Church will share the Biblical mandate.
Hannah Shultz of Georgia Interfaith Power and Light will educate us about the issues and guide us with a strategy towards action.
A family activity will be provided for children.
